The VP of Software Architecture will drive the development and delivery of complex software systems throughout all phases of the software development process. The VP will function as the primary architect and technical lead on projects to scope and estimate work streams, architect and model technical solutions that meet business requirements and serve as a technical expert in client communication. The VP will be a collaborative and technical lead while orchestrating the company's overall system development.

Essential Functions

  • Design and lead the implementation of software architecture across the company's product lines that meet requirements, are aligned to best practices, and ensure scalable and reliable deployments
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes to improve software development efficiency and quality
  • Influence product road maps through technical feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost benefit analyses
  • Partner with IT Operations and Information Security to ensure appropriate security measures are in place
  • Lead initiatives to improve automation and integration across the company's product lines
  • Oversee the development and growth of the team including coaching, performance management, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately convey messages and influence others
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
  • In depth knowledge of cloud-based application hosting such as Azure or AWS
  • Knowledge of the mortgage industry is helpful but not required
  • Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems is preferred; the equivalent amount of experience will be considered in lieu.

Experience

  • 10+ years of software development experience including experience in at least one of the following: .NET, Oracle, SQL
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical design, software development, testing and production support
  • Recent and significant experience with delivering technical solutions in an enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated record of providing technical leadership within a matrixed organization and the ability to work collaboratively

  • Compensation: $150,720 to $188,400 annualized with a 20% AIP opportunity.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon the office or meeting location.

Physical Demands and Activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is frequently required to move about the office, operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; rarely position self to maintain files; rarely moves boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. Close and distance observation required with ability to observe objects at close range in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.
