Heat Treat Assistant

General Summary

The Assistant Electrical HTT Technician assists in performing Heat treatment for the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve a desired result such as hardening or softening of a material. This position assists with heat treatment jobs on a variety of components in the refining, petrochemical, power and construction industries. Also assists with various heat treatment jobs ranging from small to medium size electrical projects and may include other Heat Treat Methods. This position provides assistance to senior technicians in the performance of Heat Treat Services to a diverse client base.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern

• Understands basic principles of electricity as well as understands electrical safety.
• Assists the work of senior Technicians assigned to project and performing HTT duties.
• Assists with set up and completion of heat treatment jobs.
• Conducts job walks and communicates requirements.
• Interfaces with clients and co-workers.
• Ensures jobs are completed in a timely manner and according to schedule.
• Assists Technician on set-up/tear-down of equipment; perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Assists Technician in completing calibrations and overall equipment and facilities maintenance.
• Assists Technician with project execution and daily tasks associated with providing industrial maintenance services.
• Assists Technician with any documentation and reports of services provided.
• Learns and abides by heat treat procedures.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess Valid Driver's License.
• Heat Treat experience preferred.
• Travel Requirements: 25% - 50%

Work Conditions

• Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere and be able to tolerate climate changes.
• Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
• Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
• May be at more than one job site in a day and may be required to travel out of town.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry75 pounds.
• Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties.
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities to communicate effectively.
• Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
• Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
• Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.

Additional Job Description

Anticipated compensation for this role is $41,600 - $47,840 per year plus benefits.

Note: Disclosure as required by HB3129 of the pay range for the role when being hired into our locations in Illinois. Team reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and geography.
