The University Housing Department is seeking (1) Painter II to join the already awesome team taking the Department to the next level of excellence!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Cleans and prepares surfaces that are to be painted, using sandpaper, steel wool, scrapers or soap and water. Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster and other fillers to prepare the surface for painting. Paints interior and exterior walls and ceilings with brushes, rollers, and spray.

* Processes the work orders for daily assignments; distributes the work to the Painter I and Painter II.

* Provides technical oversight and quality control for the crew, such as the selection and application of paints. Manages work requests; reports the work request data.

* Monitors and controls the work schedules for the crew. Instructs crew members in the performance of assigned duties. Keeps track of painting materials. Prepares inventory reports for the Zone Chief. Cleans and prepares surfaces that are to be painted, using sandpaper, steel wood, scrapers, or soap and water.

* Assists other painters in mixing paints, varnishes, shellacs, and enamels. Fill nail holes, cracks, and joint with caulk, putty plaster, or other filler.

* Paints interior and exterior walls and ceilings with brushes, rollers, and spray guns. Varnishes, stains, and finishes desks, cabinets, and other furniture, trims windows and doors. Caulks and glazes windows.

* Performs other duties as related.

* Provides occasional after-hours services as directed by the assigned Zone Chief.

* Removes and installs wallpaper. Installs and repairs sheet rock in preparation of paintwork.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.
