Astrion is seeking a highly organized and strategic Senior Business Operations Manager to support a Government Department's Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS) program. This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, financial accountability, and cross-functional coordination across a complex portfolio of CUAS initiatives.

The ideal candidate will work closely with Department program leadership, acquisition teams, and technical stakeholders to manage business operations, streamline workflows, and support mission-critical decision-making.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Policy, or related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in business operations, program control, or financial management within federal contracting.
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), budget execution, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting DHS, DoD, or other national security agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Master's degree in Business, Public Administration, or Systems Management.
  • Familiarity with CUAS mission areas and Department operational frameworks.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance-based contracting.
  • PMP or similar qualification.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee day-to-day business operations for Department CUAS programs, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain program dashboards, performance metrics, and executive-level reporting tools.
  • Support financial planning, cost analysis, and contract tracking across multiple CUAS vendors and task orders.
  • Coordinate with DHS acquisition and finance teams to ensure compliance with federal procurement and funding regulations.
  • Facilitate cross-component collaboration to align operational priorities and business processes.
  • Lead risk management efforts, identifying operational bottlenecks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Manage documentation workflows, including program plans, SOPs, and audit-ready records.
  • Provide strategic input on CUAS program scalability, workforce planning, and operational readiness.
