REQUIREMENTS:



  • Master's degree in education or related field. Doctorate in education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five-years experience in education leadership or management roles, at least seven years preferred.
  • Minimum of five-years of experience in a higher education environment.
  • Preferred: Ten-years of experience engaged post-secondary education leadership.


Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The salary range for this position is $142,637 to $ 192,980.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Director of Academic Operations (SD-AO) provides central support and leadership to academic leaders and processes at Herzing University. Specifically, the SD-AO oversees operational aspects of the academic student experience, the student complaint, grievance, and academic appeal procedures, talent acquisition and performance management processes, the academic technology, AI, and platform adoption and support process, and academic operational efficiency.

The SD-AO is a resource and advocate for academic leaders throughout the university, and as such, works collaboratively with functional and regional leaders to ensure alignment to meet the university's desired outcomes. When location academic operations vacancies occur, the SD-AO provides on-site support during the time of transition and fulfills the daily responsibilities of the academic leader on an interim-basis. The SD-AO ensures compliance with standard operating procedures and serves as a point of determination on escalated priorities, issues, or concerns.

The Senior Director of Academic Operations reports to the Vice President of Academic Operations and works collaboratively to provide an atmosphere of support and collaboration with university constituents.

This role will provide faculty support in various capacities such as faculty file upkeep, guide the faculty mentoring program and partner with faculty effectiveness department to deliver faculty development opportunities.

This role is typically Monday-Friday during business hours (Central Time zone).

Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to move about readily and rapidly, if necessary, around campus, classrooms, clinical settings, etc., to access classrooms, desks, students, office machinery, clinics, patients, etc.
  • Constantly communicates using the spoken word with students, staff and colleagues.
  • Visually or otherwise identify, observe, and assess.
  • Operate equipment specific to programmatic track, personal computer, audio-visual equipment, clinical equipment, etc.
  • Up to 45% travel required.
