Primary Purpose Manages the planning, delivery, and operations of Parkland's End User Computing (EUC) environment, including virtual desktop infrastructure, endpoint management, collaboration tools, and mobile devices, and emerging AI-assisted technologies. Oversees the design, security, and performance of enterprise endpoint systems to ensure reliable, compliant, and cost-effective technology services that directly support patient care, clinical workflows, and administrative operations. Coordinates with Systems Engineering and Infrastructure teams to maintain business continuity and disaster recovery readiness for all EUC platforms. Minimum Specifications Education
- Must have a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience
- Must have eight (8) years of experience managing enterprise end user computing or desktop infrastructure environments, including leadership experience overseeing large-scale deployments, patching, and configuration management across thousands of endpoints.
- Must include experience collaborating with senior IT and business leadership to manage service delivery, project timelines, and end user satisfaction.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience
- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
- Prefer certification in one of the following certifications:
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- VMware Certified Professional Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DM)
- ITIL Foundation Certification - Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent cloud platform certification
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification
Skills or Special Abilities
- Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage effectively with clinical and administrative staff at all levels.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong leadership, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Must have current experience with at least four (4) of the following:
- Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager - Azure Virtual Desktop / Omnissa Horizon VDI environments
- Windows OS image management and automation (SCCM, Intune, Autopilot)
- Office 365 / M365 collaboration tools (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook)
- Mobile device management (iOS/Android)
- Group Policy and security baseline enforcement
- Device lifecycle management (procurement through decommission)
- Service automation and self-service portal administration
- Asset and license management integration
- Must have familiarity with enterprise infrastructure integration, including Active Directory, certificate management, endpoint encryption, VPN, identity governance, and disaster recovery processes.
- Must understand integration points between endpoint systems and back-end infrastructure such as file, print, and application delivery systems.
- Must have current or recent experience working in a technical area with hands-on or supervisory implementation experience.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team of engineers and analysts, balancing operational support, project work, and staff development.
Responsibilities
- Ensures high availability, performance, and compliance of enterprise endpoint systems that support critical clinical and business operations, including Epic and other patient care systems. Participates in business continuity planning and disaster recovery validation for EUC environments.
- Selects, trains, motivates, and supervises EUC staff to ensure high-quality service delivery, productivity, and professional growth.
- Oversees endpoint management platforms, patching, imaging, and provisioning processes to maintain compliance, security, and performance.
- Develops and manages operating and capital budgets for the EUC organization, ensuring alignment with Parkland's financial goals and IT strategic objectives. Provides cost modeling and forecasts for hardware lifecycle, cloud services, and software licensing.
- Partners with Information Security, Networking and Telecommunications, IT Architect, Clinical Informaticists, and Systems Engineering to ensure endpoint and application environments meet enterprise standards.
- Maintains the teamAs on-call and after-hours escalation schedule.
- Drives modernization initiatives such as virtual desktop expansion, automation, and self-service enhancements.
- Develops and enforces technical standards and operational policies that ensure consistent, secure, and efficient endpoint management.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and security standards affecting endpoint technologies.
- Serves as a liaison with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate new technologies, resolve escalations, and align EUC strategy with Parkland's IT roadmap.
- Stays abreast of the latest developments in End User computing, mobile devices, M365, and virtualization technologies through training, conferences, and professional networks.
- Continuously reviews and improves EUC processes, including imaging, deployment, and device support workflows, to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
- Serves as a key technical liaison to Infrastructure, Security, and Clinical Informatics leadership, representing EUC in enterprise planning, audits, and architectural review boards.
- Participates in enterprise IT strategic technology planning to ensure endpoint strategy aligns with Parkland's modernization roadmap.
