What You'll Do:

This role serves as the critical bridge between operations, geology, mine planning, blasting and continuous improvement specialists. They will leverage information from fragmentation analysis, mobile equipment, and operations to hit these Main Goals:

  • Drive front end efficiencies by reaching capacity goals to reduce labor hours

  • Reduce costs by focusing on current / future equipment utilization and planning

  • Ensure long-term mine planning alignment through developing pit supervisors

Key Responsibilities:

  • Win Our Customers: Know The Pit (Current and Future)

    • Integrate and analyze operational data from geology, mine planning, drilling and blasting, mobile equipment, and operations.

    • Collaborate with blasting managers and blasters to analyze blast design and outcome data to ensure efficient fragmentation, reduce rehandling, and improve overall downstream processing efficiency.

    • Collaborate closely with mine planners and geologists to align pit development and extraction sequences with actual production goals.

  • Utilize Our Assets: Prolong the Life Cycle

    • Monitor and evaluate fleet performance to optimize mobile equipment utilization with plant capacity goals

    • Project future mobile equipment needs throughout the division to better utilize asset life

    • Develop real-time visualizations to monitor key metrics like utilization, cycle times, and productivity.

    • Recommend operational improvements that significantly reduce idle time, fuel usage, and overall costs per ton.

  • Develop Our People: Build the future

    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by coaching front-line supervisors on data-driven decisions for best operational practices

    • Coach on using performance visualizations to proactively identify bottlenecks and uncover optimization opportunities.

Qualifications Job Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in mining pit operations
  • Must be able to coach others in an effective manner
  • Ability to lead without authority
  • Excellent communication skills- verbal and written
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is a huge plus
  • Must have a keen attention to detail

  • Must work well in a team environment
