Summary/Objective:

This position will work within our furniture group to create new designs and collaborate with customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Create new furniture designs, develop new collections, and explore new product categories based on the company product plan and strategies.
  2. Conduct market research for various furniture categories.
  3. Present product design concepts to relevant teams and stakeholders
  4. Create drawings and/or mood boards that support the vision of new development.
  5. Maintain and support a robust material library.
  6. Coordinate with product managers to ensure designs support sourcing capabilities.
  7. Provide spec sheets with design measurements and details to be sent for quoting and sampling.
  8. Collectively and collaboratively give constructive criticism on new concepts and/or designs.
Working Conditions:
  1. Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  2. May sit for several hours at a time.
  3. Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  4. Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
Qualifications:
  1. Excellent eye for aesthetic design, while keeping the consumer in mind
  2. 2-5 years' experience in interior design and/or product design
  3. Strong knowledge of industry trends and market research
  4. Understand customer demographics, price points, and margins
  5. Ability to make data driven decisions and advise accordingly
  6. Proficiency in solid wood, veneers, fabrics and/or leather upholstery designs is helpful
  7. Excellent communication and analytical skills - detail oriented
  8. Previous experience in working with overseas factories is strongly preferred
  9. Potential travel up to 10-15% of the time
  10. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop preferred)

This role has supervisory responsibility.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salary position, typical hours/days of work are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Travel

Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day with approximately 10% travel outside of the local area.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
