This position is a budgeted replacement position for a Senior Product Manager (GL29). This role is critical to delivering market leading differentiated clinical products and strategies that drive member engagement, improve outcomes and deliver measurable value. Without this role, we are at risk of not meeting market, employer and consumer demands and enterprise goals. Notable responsibilities include, but are not limited to three primary areas:

  • Clinical Programs: Manage and maintain targeted clinical strategy and development of new, relevant Clinical program features and existing program enhancements that specifically serve the diverse clinical needs of UHC E&I membership
  • Clinical Products: Support competitive clinical pricing, packaging and revenue initiatives (e.g., package simplification, case rate) to maximize clinical outcomes and experience that inform the value story and align with evolving clinical strategy. Also includes optimizing robust and versatile clinical resources to significantly increase program engagement and growth through innovative and strategic product management across versatile stakeholder groups
  • Clinical Partnerships: Manage inter and intra-disciplinary enterprise-wide relationships through cross-team and functional collaboration to ensure timely delivery of clearly defined clinical program KPIs

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Development: Dynamic solutioning and crafting new, data-driven and member-focused, integrated (i.e., digital) clinical program features and enhancements to better serve UHC E&I members to deliver market leading and differentiated products and drive growth
  • Product Management: Ensuring clinical program KPIs and performance goals are not only achieved but also strategically position clinical programs for continued growth and further differentiation
  • Collaboration and Relationships: Develop and foster relationships across the highly matrixed organization and work closely with Optum, UCS, E&I and other functional partners to deliver on program stated objectives. Critical to ensure communicative and strong cross-functional partnerships and build rapport with clinical, operational, product, and other key stakeholders
  • Efficiency Initiatives: Identifying and advancing strategic clinical initiatives aimed at driving program efficiencies and cost savings to further inform and enhance the clinical value story

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry. Clinical background and/or experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Clinical Program Manager
  • 4+ years of experience developing and presenting business cases to stakeholder groups across the enterprise
  • 4+ years of experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues and identifying and implementing dynamic solutions to problems through collaboration and innovation
  • 4+ years of experience operating well in a changing and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • 4+ years of experience balancing, leveraging, and applying strategic thinking with the urgency to drive and prioritize intentional and impactful work forward in a timely manner (time management is key)
  • 4+ years of experience adapting quickly to changes in direction, navigating uncertainty, maintaining a strong opinion, and pivoting work accordingly
  • 4+ years of experience creatively problem solving with natural curiosity and effectively balancing exploration with execution
  • 4+ years of experience as a team player adept at forming, maintaining, and leveraging working professional relationships to achieve shared and competing strategic goals
  • 4+ years of experience clearly and concisely writing and verbally communicating with diverse audiences to achieve different goals
  • 4+ years of experience with maintaining professionalism across all deliverables via strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • 4+ years of experience embracing a culture of feedback and consistently leaning in and focusing on personal and professional growth
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
