Job Summary Provides strategic pricing management, analysis and growth guidance for $250M Chemicals business portfolio. Oversees, evaluates, develops, and promotes CSX's products/programs for Chemicals Business Unit, including marketing and communication to internal and external stakeholders. Analyzes and reports against performance metrics. Identifies and advocates for capital and service development needs to optimally serve the market and drive modal conversion to rail.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Design, market, and support sales of CSX Transportation services for assigned products
- Develop yield management and strategic marketing plans based on market research and competitor analysis
- Collaborate with Sales to create product value propositions
- Develop industry knowledge and expertise for product areas of responsibility through market research and monitoring competitor activity and create strategic marketing plans accordingly
- Evaluate market evolution and key customer/competitive initiatives
- Assist with pricing, contracts, and communication materials
- Lead project and process initiatives related to key products
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in product management, marketing, pricing, project management and/or business to business (B2B) sales
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree
- 5 or more years of experience in product management, B2B marketing, pricing, project management and/or B2B sales
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including data analysis, dynamic reporting, automation, and management of large datasets
- Preferred proficiency in utilizing Power BI for data analysis, visualization, and dissemination of data-driven insights
- Strong project management abilities, business acumen, leadership qualities, effective time management, meticulous attention to detail, and capability to work independently as a self-starter
- Proven skills in process improvement and cross-functional project management
- Excellent analytical thinking abilities
- Skilled in developing written documents and presentation materials for diverse audiences; ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority (a writing sample will be required during the interview process)
- Competence in compiling and presenting comprehensive market and financial data
- Ability to build rapport and foster relationships with stakeholders at various organizational levels, both internally and externally
