Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Planner will serve as a site-wide technical leader for site wide maintenance and capital projects, optimizing equipment uptime and Maintenance department efficiency through effective planning, scheduling, and resource coordination. This role directly supports business objectives by ensuring the seamless execution of maintenance activities and capital project deliverables across all plant systems and equipment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintenance and Technical Resource

    • Benchmark best practices in maintenance and capital project planning, both internally and externally
    • Participate in company-wide maintenance and capital project initiatives
    • Understand and communicate how various plant systems and equipment integrate to deliver operational reliability
    • Partner with Maintenance Lead to develop training documentation for general maintenance and capital project execution
    • Support the site in resolving technical issues, eliminating root causes, and implementing processes to prevent recurrence
    • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for parts, services, and technical solutions related to maintenance and capital projects
    • Assist with developing Maintenance department goals and objectives, including capital project planning
    • Use maintenance metrics (planned maintenance rate, schedule compliance, PM completion, reliability, etc.) to drive decisions

Planning and Scheduling Process

    • Walk down general maintenance and capital project jobs to assemble detailed job plans
    • Generate and update PMs and job plans for both routine maintenance and capital projects
    • Assemble work schedules that balance equipment and labor needs for maintenance and project activities
    • Work closely with production planners to optimize equipment availability for both maintenance and capital projects
    • Educate operations and production planners on equipment needs and risks tied to project work
    • Ensure time cards accurately reflect employee's time spent on capital projects in WorkBrain

CMMS Leadership and Early Management

    • Perform advanced data analysis to support maintenance and capital project problem-solving
    • Lead Maximo setup and data management for new capital assets and projects
    • Work cross-functionally to meet maintenance deliverables for capital projects and communicate needs from an early management standpoint

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of related experience
    • Proven ability to adapt communication style to different skill levels, fostering learning and development of work order process system, and maintenance planning and scheduling within the organization
    • Goal-oriented and self-motivated
    • Comprehensive understanding of the work order quality audit process
    • Strong understanding of the daily tasks of a maintenance employee and how they contribute to strategic planning and scheduling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Prior experience in maintenance planning or a deep understanding of planned maintenance strategies
    • Current maintenance background or equivalent technical expertise
    • Knowledge of predictive maintenance practices

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $64800.00 - $89300.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
