Pharmacy Technician (PRN)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PRN Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Weekday hours are required. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy operations, particularly within behavior health care and acute care environments. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications, while also providing exceptional service to patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescriptions.
• Provide patient service by addressing inquiries, offering medication information, and supporting medication intake processes.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication with healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure optimal patient care in acute care settings.
• Manage inventory control for medications and supplies, ensuring availability while minimizing waste.
• Document medication administration accurately in accordance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
• Foster a positive environment that prioritizes patient safety, quality care, and teamwork among healthcare professionals.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably within hospital settings.
• Familiarity with critical care protocols and acute care practices is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
