THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this trainee position, you will play a key role in ensuring skilled labor and regulatory compliance for the operation and maintenance of the potable water treatment, storage, and distribution systems at Shawnee State Park. Your responsibilities will include engaging in the operation and upkeep of a sophisticated water treatment filtration system that draws from a surface water intake to provide safe drinking water to the park. You will also take part in various training programs, both in-service and on-the-job, aimed at enhancing your knowledge and skills in water treatment plant operations and plumbing. The assignments will offer you progressively responsible experience in managing equipment such as motors, pumps, water softeners, chemical feeders, chlorinators, membrane filters, and flow recorders, all essential for effective water treatment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hour, 5-day work week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position performs in a seven (7) day a week operation and may be scheduled to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Any combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledges and abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • You must be in possession of a valid automobile operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth or Pennsylvania.

Other Requirements:
