Job Responsibilities:

A strong, focused, flexible facilitator reporting to Vice President - JHM Budget, Financial Analysis, Decision Support. Partners with enterprise leadership and financial and operational teams in developing and implementing strategic, operational and execution plans in support of Johns Hopkins Medicine's vision, mission, and enterprise-wide strategy. The Budget Design and Execution Director partners with other departments and business areas to align on high priority, organizational strategies, and goals. Provides leadership, coordination and execution while performing work of broad scope and complexity under the direction of the executive leadership in JHM Finance.

This role has visibility to the strategic and operational elements of the organization and will have access to and involvement in highly sensitive information. The successful individual will be highly professional and discrete, high-energy, strategic, proactive, a direct communicator, highly organized, and committed to the vision and values of the organization.

Responsibilities include:



  • The SOM and JHHS have created a new funds flow model. In addition, JHHS senior leadership has adopted a funds flow governance model to guide those detailed review and decision-making processes. This role facilitates that governance model, ensuring the fiscal integrity, and stewardship of the JHHS/SOM Funds Flow Model, on behalf of JHHS. This role partners with stakeholders and senior leaders across JHHS, hospitals, and the medical school. This partnership includes ongoing education of the components and calculations underlying that funds flow model, and facilitating discussions to bring questions to consensus / resolution.
  • Develop/support optimized business processes and methodologies related to the standardized annual JHM budget.
  • Develop and deliver on change management activities to support the evolution of our plans and activities
  • Manage and facilitate financial strategy reviews, meetings and /or hearings with JHHS senior executive leaders.
  • Develop and manage performance improvement programs in collaboration with JHHS Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skillsets essential to success in these areas of responsibility include:



  • Development and implementation of standardized process/policies/timeline and definitions and governance, in conjunction with legal and the Funds Fow executive steering committee.
  • Identify, facilitate, and drive change that enables our ability to Make Johns Hopkins Medicine and Work Like One Organization.
  • Develop timelines and communications for the execution.
  • Engage in planning, development, testing, training, and deployment of technology, tools, and business processes.

  • JHHS Funds Flow Executive Steering Committee
  • JHM and JHHS executive leadership
  • JHUSOM Central Finance Executive Directors
  • JHHS Legal
  • JHM Budget Office
  • JHHS Controller's Office
  • JHHS affiliate CFOs and teams,
  • JHHS affiliate VP Medical Affairs and teams and other stakeholders as needed.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Health Administration, Business Administration or related field. A Master's degree in a related field is strongly preferred. CPA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of broad experience in a strategic financial role, preferably in the consulting industry, including 2-4 years of management experience. Years of experience can be compensated with higher-level degrees.
  • CPA Preferred


Salary Range: $130,000 to $165,000 per year. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
