Production Technician

Schedule: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

This position is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the individual may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Assignments are performed according to specified and standardized procedures, and work is closely and continually reviewed.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations for medical device products.



  • Follow standardized procedures and ensure documentation for cell operations is accurate and up to date.



  • Communicate ideas, problems, and solutions clearly in both written and verbal form to all levels of manufacturing management.



  • Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers (including facility tours).



  • Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices during operations.



  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production efficiency and support quality and profitability metrics.



  • Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability and quality assurance for all products.



  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.



  • Partner with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager to set and monitor individual goals and cell performance metrics.



  • Support divisional initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory requirements.




Required Skills & Abilities


  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.



  • Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software.



  • Ability to prioritize work based on timing, sequencing, and workload importance.



  • Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.



  • Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.




Technical Experience




  • Assembly / production experience (medical device, electronics, or small components).



  • Experience working in a cleanroom or regulated manufacturing environment (medical, pharma, aerospace, semiconductor).



  • Ability to handle small parts and use hand tools / microscopes.



  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs).



  • Comfortable with documentation and quality tracking (traveler sheets, batch records, DHR, etc.).




Quality / Compliance




  • Understanding of ISO / FDA-regulated environment, or similar quality-controlled setting.



  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement concepts (nice to have, not required).





Education



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
