Controller Dallas, TX- flexible hybrid/remote schedule with travel Compensation: $200k-250K base + 20-30% bonus One of Vaco's PE backed partners is seeking an experienced Controller to lead their accounting organization through a period of modernization and growth. With revenue of approximately $130M and strong EBITDA performance, the company continues to expand both organically and through multiple annual acquisitions. This role offers high visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to make a lasting impact by building scalable processes, developing a team, and supporting continued M&A integration efforts. Ideal for a seasoned Controller who thrives in a hands-on, fast-moving environment and wants to help shape the financial foundation of a growing PE-backed business. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all corporate accounting functions including general ledger, financial reporting, payroll, AR/AP, and tax compliance. Manage a team of 10-12 direct reports across multiple locations Oversee consolidated close and reporting across multiple entities, reducing close timelines and improving reporting accuracy. Build and standardize accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation (SOPs). Lead integration efforts related to recent and upcoming acquisitions, ensuring smooth financial transitions. Partner closely with operations and executive leadership to provide financial insight and support business decision-making. Manage external audit and tax relationships and ensure full GAAP compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ERP utilization (NetSuite). Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred. 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity. Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams across multiple locations. Experience in mid-market, PE-backed environments ($100M+ revenue). Strong process orientation with demonstrated ability to modernize and streamline accounting operations. Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication and team development skills.
