From your PASSION to ours:

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Raw Material Manager in Buffalo, New York.

Summary: Maintain the in-process sampling plan and ensure samples are collected and analyzed at the planned frequency.

Manage the reporting of wastewater analysis (COD, BOD, TSS, Volume). Review and report on daily process mass balances.

Evaluate and suggest improvement to the methods, equipment and frequency of sampling and volume measurement to ensure reliable inputs to the mass balance. Assist the RSPC department manager in the optimization of recipes to ensure the best performance (quality, consistency, yield, recovery, etc.). Ensure clarity in reporting to facilitate the analysis of facility financial performance and kpi's. Review and monitor packaging giveaway to ensure regulatory compliance and optimization of production yield.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

1.\tAnalyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department performance.

2.\tComplete all records and charts as required.

3.\tPerforms administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meeting presentations.)

4.\tMeets regularly with shift supervisors and managers to stay informed about all issues arising in the department.

5.\tWorks with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures.

6.\tCollects and provides any data necessary for budget creation or implementation.

7.\tActively work on production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments.

8.\tOperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals.

9.\tSuggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in solving procedure.

10.\tIdentify strengths and/or weaknesses of the employees and demonstrate the ability to train and coach to strengthen weaknesses and utilize strengths.

11.\tParticipates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.

12.\tMaintains open communication with all employees including department managers.

13.\tImplement special projects and procedures as directed.

14.\tMaintains departmental sanitation and safety operations.

15.\tEnforces all GMP's, Quality, OSHA,

16.\tFind cost savings within the department's daily parameters.

17.\tWorks close with maintenance on a variety of issues related to equipment, department maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.

18.\tPractices (GMP) as well as Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).

19.\tUpholds all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding Lactalis products and recipes.

20.\tPerforms other work duties as requested by the Plant Manager.

21.\tAttend departmental meetings and in-services as required.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

1. Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science/Chemistry preferred.

2. Dairy or other related experience preferred.

3. Strong communication abilities, written and verbal.

4. Knowledge of computer software. Professional Certification - Microsoft Office

5. Previous manufacturing analysis required.

6. Specialized Knowledge - Strong Math Skills.

7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be dependable and be able to work well in a team environment.
