We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Technician to join our Scientific Department. This position requires hands-on work building, testing, and supporting advanced fiber lasers and optical amplifier systems. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in laser electronics and its troubleshooting, fiber handling, and optical system diagnostics.



Key Responsibilities:



  1. Build, align, calibrate, and test high-performance laser and amplifier prototypes and production units.
  2. Perform precision optical fiber splicing, cleaving, and routing including single-mode and PM fibers.
  3. Support and troubleshoot analog and digital control electronics (optical monitors, safety circuits, control boards).
  4. Analyze and interpret performance test data; prepare clear and concise reports.
  5. Coordinate with supporting engineers and implement product upgrades.
  6. Maintain accurate production records, test logs, and documentation.

Requirements

  1. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Laser Technology, Photonics, or a related technical discipline.
  2. Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in laser or optoelectronic device manufacturing.
  3. Strong working knowledge of analog and digital electronics and electronic troubleshooting.
  4. Experience with fiber optic systems: handling, splicing, and testing.
  5. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  6. Familiarity with test instruments: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, etc.
  7. Introductory to intermediate understanding of fiber laser operation and optical amplifier principles (preferred, but not mandatory).
  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks
  9. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs

Pay Range:


The pay range on this posting applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location posted, the applicable range could differ. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
