As the Lead Avionics Technician within our Business Aviation MRO, you will provide the subject matter expertise and leadership for our installation and service operations, including scheduling, performance management, and professional development of your team.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee avionics service from retrofits and upgrades to troubleshooting and repairs across a wide range of corporate aircraft undergoing heavy maintenance.
  • Drive a safety-first culture while ensuring all work meets FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and StandardAero quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders including Airframe, Planning, Engineering, and Quality to deliver seamless and on-time aircraft projects.
  • Monitor project timelines and resource allocation to ensure budget and schedule compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians; assist with complex troubleshooting and system integration issues as needed.
  • Review and approve logbook entries, inspection records, and other maintenance documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Partner with the Avionics Crew Chief and senior leadership on strategic initiatives, including capability expansion, tooling, training, and process improvements.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of Avionics inspection and troubleshooting experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of avionics experience within a Business Aviation MRO environment.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing cabin connectivity systems such as Starlink, GoGo, SmartSky, Collins, and/or Honeywell.
  • Technical expertise of avionics systems across navigation, communication, surveillance, and cabin connectivity.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • FCC GROL, FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Experience troubleshooting avionics systems such as Garmin, Starlink, GoGo, SmartSky, Collins, and/or Honeywell.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams.
  • Prior hands-on experience supporting corporate aircraft platforms such as Falcon, Gulfstream, Challenger, Hawker, or Embraer.
