Job Summary
The Administrative Officer 2 (AO2) serves a critical role in providing administrative, program, fiscal, and analytical support for the daily operations of Home Care Services (HCS). The AO2 is a seasoned professional who will provide support in various essential Home Care services activities including but not limited to budgetary financial management, human resources, safety and building coordination, emergency management, policy and procedure management, and all other general administrative and staff support. The AO2 is a well-organized, proactive, and analytical individual who excels both independently and in collaborative settings. Dependable and self-motivated, this position will serve as an administrative contact person, interacting with supervisors, clinicians, staff, and the general public. The incumbent will utilize good judgment to prioritize tasks and respond to the needs of supervisors and staff; effectively communicating verbally and in writing in order to assist effectively and patiently with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
The incumbent will evaluate situations, make decisions, adjust priorities, and respond with flexibility to requests for assistance in problem solving. The incumbent will have the knowledge of and ability to utilize policies and procedures regarding travel, reimbursements, purchasing, and more. They will exercise diplomacy in handling sensitive and confidential issues.

- Minimum five (5) years of administrative experience
- Experience supporting a diverse group of stakeholders including leadership, administration, clinicians, patients, and the public.
- Experience establishing goals and workload priorities and organizing and coordinating multiple complex projects and tasks with competing deadlines.
- Experience using interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills to interact and communicate in-person, over the phone, through electronic e-mail, etc., and to positively represent Home Care Services to all.
- Seasoned experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Analytical skills to anticipate/identify problems, to research and interpret data, to present analysis, and to develop solutions for resolution and implementation.
- Professional skills to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically, and to work with constituents from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Knowledge of all pertinent laws, regulations, and guidelines governing medical records; confidentiality, privacy, and provision to others, including HIPAA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/ or equivalent experience, preferably in business or related field.
- UC Davis Health experience
- Previous experience working in an academic/healthcare setting
- Home health and/or hospice experience
- Experience or familiarity with medical supplies, instrumentation, equipment, and terminology
- Knowledge of UC Davis Health system, structure, and policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs (i.e., Lawson/LEAP, Epic, Medline, AggieTravel/AggieExpense, Ecotime, Check Requests, Taylor Printing/Reprographics, and UCDH catering/vendor process).
- Knowledge of practices and protocols related to home health and hospice operations.

Department Specific Job Scope HCS is made up of three primary programs: Hospice (inpatient and home care), Home Health, and Home-Based Palliative Care. Our administrative team, Clinical Operations, supports all three programs and this position would be a part of that team.
