Food, and Nutrition Services goals are to provide a variety of nutritional, safe, attractive, healthy food choices for patients, visitors, and staff.

Food Service Workers perform a variety of kitchen and related food service tasks such as cleaning, serving in retail and patient areas, food preparation, assembling trays, transporting food and supplies, dish and ware washing. They are responsible for maintaining proper food handling, safety, and sanitation according to federal and state guidelines. Adheres to hospital policies for information management insuring confidentiality, security, and integrity of data. Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines of federal and state regulatory agencies.

Description:

  • Prepare and portion food items, including washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring ingredients.

  • Cook and fry foods according to recipes and safety standards, ensuring proper temperature and quality.

  • Serve patients, staff, and visitors courteously and efficiently while following dietary guidelines.

  • Operate cash register and answer Food Service phones to assist customers and staff.

  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and floors according to infection control and safety procedures.

  • Wash pots, pans, and dishes following hospital sanitation standards.

  • Properly store and label food items using safe food handling and rotation practices.

  • Safely transports food trays and supplies to and from kitchen and service areas.

  • Follow all hospital safety, dress code, and infection control policies.

  • Participate in required training, safety drills, and team meetings.

Requirements:

  • Food Handler Card or Servsafe Certificate (Preferred)
