Location: Kansas City, MO
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
Pay: Competitive, based on experience

We are looking for a Kitchen Supervisor who is passionate about food service, leadership, and helping others develop valuable job skills through our Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) program.


What You'll Do

As a Kitchen Supervisor, you'll oversee kitchen operations, mentor program participants in work therapy, and ensure nutritious, high-quality meals are prepared daily.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Supervise and schedule kitchen staff and assistants



  • Train and mentor program participants in food service and kitchen safety



  • Plan and prepare balanced, cost-effective menus



  • Order and maintain food and supply inventory



  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards



  • Support the mission of The Salvation Army by fostering a positive, learning-focused kitchen environment

Qualifications


  • Graduate of an accredited food service program (or equivalent experience)



  • At least 1 year of institutional or large-scale cooking experience



  • Supervisory or management experience required



  • Food safety certification (preferred)



  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills



  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs




Work Environment


  • Kitchen setting with moderate noise level



  • Fast-paced, hands-on atmosphere



  • Some flexibility in schedule required
