Senior Quality Engineer - Mission Assurance to our Facilities in Columbia City, IN. This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of Quality throughout the product development lifecycle. This includes ensuring adherence to AS9100, contractual and internal process requirements. Drive continual process and product improvement, ensuring product and process integrity, customer satisfaction and overall mission success while supporting quality, delivery and cost targets.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the various organizational teams to ensure deliverables are produced to meet quality standards set by government, regulatory, customer and Ultra Maritime corporate requirements.
  • Responsibility for resolving technical challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision for the Quality team.
  • Champion and support best practice and continuous improvement within the development teams.
  • Collect and analyze key quality measures such as cost of poor quality to develop zero defect plans, improve yields and reduce rework during engineering and manufacturing efforts.
  • Ensures product quality technology is an integral part of engineering design and manufacturing processes. Drive advanced product quality planning throughout the product maturity cycle.
  • Promotes a strong culture of quality focused on every employee engaged and enhancing the customer experience through rigorous attention to detail and prevention of defects.
  • Works closely with the cross-functional program development teams to ensure that all phases of the development life cycle, from early customer involvement through post-delivery support, meet the requirements.
  • Ensures the maintenance of quality records that document the quality status of material/products and provide necessary information for internal and external reviews.
  • Leads robust root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
  • Measures, monitor, and take action to ensure quality-focused key performance indicator targets are achieved or exceeded
  • Applies Ultra Maritime policies, procedures and standards that are relevant to the respective program and functional organizations
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6+ of prior Quality experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering and production processes used to design, develop and produce products.
  • Quality experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Experience working with DCMA and government contracts.
  • Experience applying prevention utilizing formal tools such, DMAIC, FMEA, 8D, 5Y etc. and applying Lean techniques such as Standard Work and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
