AF Engineering Test Manager- Mid-Level

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: Active Secret

CERTIFICATION: N/A

Astrion is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist who possesses advanced front-office administrative support talents, especially with respect to technical documentation format, editing and publishing, program management support, and human resources. This multi-faceted position will work closely with organizational management and engineering teams.

Astrion has worked extensively with the Department of Defense executing a Technical Management and Advisory Service contract where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the needs of its clients.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and 3 - 10 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
  • U.S. citizenship required. An active Secret security clearance is required.
  • High level of expertise in writing, editing and structured formatting.
  • Knowledge of regulations and policies affecting publications and standards.
  • Able to assimilate, organize and maintain information on programs and policies.
  • Knowlege of Human Resources poilicy, procedures, terminolgy
  • Self-motivated expert accepting responsibility for identifying, organizing, coordinating, executing necessary tasks leading to the successful accomplishment of assigned duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an integrated test team.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience in the test and evaluation process
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES

Documentation Management and Review (40% of the time)

  • Review reports and documentation to confirm adherence to organization-specific requirements, to include adhering to the Air Force Handbook - Tongue and Quill.
  • Perform standardized editing on documentation to include checks for format, clarity and overall cohesiveness.
  • Review and finalize technical reports and documentation in accordance with Air Force and Squadron/Flight policies and preferences.
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style and content.
  • Interface with authors on recommended revisions to documentation.
  • Develop configuration management strategies to manage technical material repositories.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of standard technical terminology and documentation.
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
  • Tracking and distribution of flight technical documentation.

Program Management Support (30% of the time)

  • Assist senior engineers with planning, scheduling lab and range resources, documenting and reporting data link test events.
  • Review documentation to confirm adherence customer-driven
  • Publish formal meeting minutes.
  • Develop program progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
  • Assist with organizing, scheduling and hosting program and flight related meetings, range resources, and events.

Office Management and Human Resources Support (30% of the time)

  • Review, edit and process hiring packages to include arranging for interviews, on-boarding and out-processing personnel.
  • Office management administrative duties as assigned.
