POSITION SUMMARY: In this role, you will play a crucial part in guiding and supporting client sites to attain and uphold excellence in specialty pharmacy practices. Your expertise in specialty pharmacy will be leveraged as you collaborate with internal teams and client sites to guarantee compliance with accreditation standards like URAC, ACHC, or their equivalents. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting evaluations, pinpointing improvement areas, and providing guidance to meet or surpass accreditation requirements. Additionally, you will contribute to policy development, staff training, and actively participate in establishing a robust quality assurance program. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Evaluate the pharmacy's compliance with accreditation standards like URAC, ACHC, or equivalent. Identify gaps, suggest improvements, and provide feedback on areas of non-compliance.
- Develop and implement plans to ensure the specialty pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards, offering expert advice on best practices and industry trends.
- Revise policies and procedures to align with accreditation standards, and assist in developing new policies as needed.
- Support pharmacy management teams in designing and delivering training sessions for staff, focusing on accreditation standards and specialty pharmacy best practices.
- Provide consultative support for establishing and enhancing a robust quality assurance program, offering recommendations for monitoring, measuring, and improving compliance with accreditation standards.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all accreditation-related processes, policies, and procedures. Assist in preparing and submitting required reports to accrediting bodies.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach to accreditation requirements. Ensure effective communication with external auditors during accreditation reviews.
- Assist in preparing the pharmacy for accreditation audits through mock audits, readiness assessments, and guidance on addressing potential areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
EDUCATION:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration or a related field is required. In the absence of a diploma, 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a specialty pharmacy organization or an accreditation body (such as URAC, ACHC, Joint Commission) is required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare and/or specialty pharmacy accreditation standards such as URAC, ACHC, Joint Commission or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels both inside and outside the organization.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to structure and prioritize work to achieve specific deliverables in an environment characterized by tight deadlines and competing priorities.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of healthcare and specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, including URAC, ACHC, Joint Commission, or equivalents.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for engaging with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Display meticulous attention to detail, emphasizing accuracy and compliance.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Special Working Conditions (On-call, travel, shift, coverage):
- Travel as required up to 20% domestically (1-2 times per new client site) for conducting gap analysis and providing support during assessment and audit activities.
