The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible hospitalist to join our established Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) academic practice. We welcome applicants who are Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialists with an inpatient focus or experienced OB/GYN specialists with demonstrated expertise in hospital-based obstetric care. The qualified candidate may be a Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialist or an experienced obstetrician. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate should have broad experience in all aspects of inpatient obstetric care, including labor and delivery, antepartum and postpartum management, and obstetric emergencies. Candidates should be skilled in the care of high-risk pregnancies and comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary academic environment. Clinical responsibilities include labor and delivery coverage, antepartum and postpartum care, participation in rapid response and obstetric emergency management, and collaboration with MFM subspecialists, OB/GYN specialists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care and outcomes. Academic responsibilities include but are not limited to participation in teaching activities with medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as participation in quality improvement initiatives, simulation training, and departmental research activities.
