Student Services Specialist (Specially Funded) Job ID: 321839 Location: Rio Salado Community College Full/Part Time: Regular/Temporary: Regular Hiring Salary Range $19.17 - $23.99/hourly, DOE Grade 109 Work Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Up to one (1) Saturday per month may be required. Weeks including a Saturday will include an additional weekday off during the same week. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Work Calendar 12 Months Funding Information This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 06-30-2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD. Job Summary Provides a high-level of customer service to students and community members by administering a variety of academic, career, and certification assessments at the Rio Salado College (RSC) Tempe Testing Center. This position follows strict policies and procedures for online test administration and provides technical support to customers and team members. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of front-line Testing Services at the RSC Tempe Testing Center and for opening the Testing Center each day. Essential Functions 60% - Provides a high-level of direct customer service to students, test candidates, staff, and Faculty. Administers assessments in accordance with established procedures and policies, while working collaboratively in a team environment. Serves as a certified proctor and subject matter expert in exam administration. Maintains accurate database information and ensures the confidentiality of all testing records. Responsible for opening the RSC Tempe Testing Center each day. 15% - Delivers a high-level of technical support to students, candidates, part-time staff, and other team members through troubleshooting. Corresponds and collaborates with Faculty, outside departments, and external companies regarding testing issues and scheduling. Prepares and maintains correspondence and reports related to Testing. 15% - Provides general clerical and front-desk support for the Testing Center, including answering phones, returning calls and voicemails, maintaining the Testing Center email inbox, and greeting or directing student and customer traffic. Maintains overall organization of the Testing Center area, including files and records, and ensures accurate receipt and processing of payments. Assists with packaging and ordering supplies for the Testing Center and other testing center locations, and ensures that testing materials and supplies are properly stocked, maintained, and ready for daily operations. 10% - Establishes and coordinates work schedules, calendars and appointments for the RSC Tempe Testing Center. Trains and implements policies and procedures to other Testing Technicians. Provides follow up training to staff when necessary and collaborates with the Testing Department training team. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, customer service, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Bachelor's Degree Special Working Conditions The primary location for this position is the Rio Salado College Tempe main campus located at 2323 W. 14th Street Tempe, AZ 85281. This position's hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm. Some Saturdays are required. This position may require occasional evening hours as the RSC Tempe location is open until 7:00pm. May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
