Job Summary Under the direction of the Student Services Manager, this position supports students, staff, faculty, and community members by coordinating presentations, workshops, events, and services that advance Glendale Community College's student retention goals. The position plays a central role in supporting Student Life and Leadership programming, with a focus on student leadership development and student clubs. Responsibilities include event planning, research, and logistical coordination such as processing requisitions, contracts, and purchases. The role also provides administrative guidance to student organizations, particularly in areas of travel coordination, documentation, and procurement. The successful candidate will lead student staff within the Student Leadership Center and oversee daily operations of the on-site Food Pantry, including cleanliness, inventory, shopping, restocking, and volunteer coordination. Additionally, the position connects students with Basic Needs services by coordinating resources such as blood drives, HIV/STD testing, and other community-based support programs. Essential Functions 30% - Provides guidance to student organizations in event planning, fiscal management, travel coordination, and compliance with student policies. Oversees the initiation process for new clubs/organizations, and reviews and approves expenditures from student leadership accounts. 30% - Plans, develops, and implements student events, activities, and services across GCC Main and North campuses. Coordinates programs such as Cultural Month Activities and other initiatives that promote leadership development, engagement, and belonging. Oversees marketing efforts and assesses Student Learning Outcomes to ensure alignment with program goals. 30% - Coordiantes the daily workflow of the Student Leadership Center, including oversight of the GCC Food Pantry. Responsibilities include weekly shopping, donation stocking, data collection, and preparing reports to track usage. Fosters a welcoming and respectful environment for students, staff, faculty, and volunteers, demonstrating a high standard of customer service. 10% - Leads, trains, and assists in evaluation of temporary employees and work-study students within the Leadership Center. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field B. Two or more years working in Student Life and Leadership in a higher educational setting C. Two or more years working in an area where programming and/or facilitating events and/or activities was a component of job responsibilities D. Proficiency in Peoplesoft and/or Learning Management Applications (FMS, SIS, 25Live, Canvas, etc.) E. Proficiency in standard Microsoft office and/or Google suite and/or desktop publishing software F.
