Job Title: Staff Engineer II - Senior Software Engineer, Data Services
Location: CA - Westlake Village
What you'll do: Come join the AmeriHome's team, a Western Alliance Bank company, as a Staff Engineer II of the Data Services team. We're building a cutting-edge platform designed to streamline and enhance business workflows in the mortgage lending space. As part of a dynamic and growing team, you'll help shape the software that drives our evolving business needs.
As a Staff Engineer II, you'll provide expertise in a suite of technical tools and products in each domain to ensure solutions are safe, secure, compliant, and reliable. You'll identify develop and support needs, as well as taking on design responsibilities supporting project tasks. As the Staff Engineer II, you'll facilitate dialogue and activities to ensure team collaboration including teams outside of your domain. You'll develop effective presentations and narratives for their teams.
- Lead the strategic planning of a project as it relates to technical solution design.
- Design and implement engineering principles aimed at reliability practices and sound recovery procedures.
- Design transaction specific application performance monitoring metrics that can be captured and passed to business partners.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations and procedures while also ensuring compliance with IT policies, procedures, and industry standards. Develop desktop procedures when needed that others follow.
- Collaborate with your partners in engineering, technology team, information security, and product management to understand requirements, and turn those requirements into carefully designed and well-authored quality code.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards. Utilize web front-end and back-end technologies to analyze, design, develop, and unit test both non-consumer-facing and consumer-facing applications, with high quality and on schedule.
What you'll need:
- 7+ years of related experience in IT development or related field in designing and building highly available and scalable applications with C# in .NET, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core or MVC.
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, and AWS).
- Experience or familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service or certified AI-102 is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with web front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React or Angular is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in data modelling and implementation with Transact SQL (T-SQL) / SQL Server.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Advanced proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Additional experience with pipeline development and leveraging Azure DevOps while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- May require up to 25% travel.
Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $139,530.00 - $172,360.00 for Westlake Village, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
