The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health is recruiting a short-term casual hire to work for a study on temperature and physical and mental health of farm workers in the US. The casual hire will work closely with Drs. Katherine Keyes and Ilan Cerna-Turoff to support weekly monitoring the quality of daily temperature and health data during data collection and conduct data cleaning, coordination with the partner agency, and perform mixed methods data analysis. The casual hire will also contribute to drafting manuscripts and other related tasks as assigned. The causal hire will be expected to work up to 15 hours per week in conducting quality assessments and cleaning data.

Responsibilities

Assist management of ongoing study, 20%

Data cleaning and analysis, 70%

Drafting manuscripts, 5%

Other duties as assigned 5%

Minimum Qualifications




  • A bachelors' degree is required.




Preferred Qualifications




  • The successful candidate must possess strong academic writing skills, good time management, clear communication skills, and attention to detail. S/he should have knowledge of climate-related issues and/or health. S/he should have a willingness to learn qualitative data analysis techniques. Proficiency or fluency in Spanish is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability in a computer programming language and strong data management and analysis skills are essential.
