Position Summary:

The Red Hawk Cafe Cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing friendly and professional service. They handle payments, issue receipts, and may assist with order taking, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for guests. The cashier is often the first and last contact the guest has with our lodge; therefore, how you represent the Sky House goes a long way in determining whether the guest will become a regular.

Typical shift is 9:00am-4:00pm and must have open availability during weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system (we currently use Squirrel) to handle cash, credit, and digital payments accurately.
  • Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with menu selections or order details.
  • Keep the cashier station and surrounding areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dining area and follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Will vacuum, mop and sweep the restaurant area.
  • Bus tables and run dish bins to the Dishwasher.
  • ID guests in accordance to Idaho state liquor and identification laws. Monitor guest intoxication and take action or get help, if necessary.
  • Maintain a positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude toward guests and coworkers. Work as part of the team by assisting, communicating, and proactivity troubleshooting problems.

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in giving directions and answering questions.
  • Assist host/hostess at the Sky House.
  • Other duties as assigned

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications - Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Training Certificate, we will help you acquire.

Technical - Basic computer knowledge and comfortable with a computer based point of sale (Squirrel is our current system).

Physical Capabilities - Able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level is preferred. Exposed to ice, snow and cold temperatures.

Additional - Strong attention to detail. Must be capable of managing and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required - English reading, writing and communication; basic math.

Minimum time in related position - 6 months Cash register and/or POS system experience preferred
