Finance Analyst- Global Accounting COE

The primary responsibility of the Global Accounting CoE is to serve as the global accounting subject matter experts. Members of the CoE obtain an understanding of current company-wide accounting policies, ensure Company processes adhere to those accounting policies, and operationalize accounting with a focus on standardization and efficiency. This position will assist the Global Accounting CoE Managers with various recurring tasks including controls testing, account reconciliation reviews and monthly close processes. Lastly, the position will have exposure to various cross functional teams within the Company including Global Reporting, Accounting Policy, Controllership, Treasury, Shared Business Services (SBS) and Commercial Finance.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Obtain support for customer price audit sampling and prepare testing.
  • Prepare monthly Capitalized Software manual entries, reporting and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset disposal and additions schedules to be provided to Financial Reporting.
  • Perform monthly monitoring to identify abnormal long-lived asset balances. Work with Global Accounting CoE team members to research and identify solutions to assist Controllership.
  • Cross train with the external financial reporting team to assist with quarterly tie out procedures and statutory financial statement preparation.
  • Special Projects - Assist Global Accounting CoE team with key Company accounting and finance initiatives such as, process documentation updates, automaton projects and other general accounting and intercompany initiatives as necessary.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with Major in Accounting or Finance

Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant, or in process of obtaining license

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, auditing and/or financial analysis
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Microsoft Office experience

Preferred:

  • Familiar with Oracle and/or OneStream
  • Previous Sherwin-Williams Internship or Co-Op experience
  • Previous experience in the Sherwin-Williams Corporate Finance Internship Program

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to professionally handle confidential information
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Enjoys delivering on complex work in a dynamic global operating environment

  • Experience with OneStream
  • Experience with Oracle General Ledger
