PURPOSE OF POSITION

The purpose of the Lift Operations Manager position is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all lifts while providing an exceptional guest experience. This role is responsible for maximizing departmental productivity and managing labor costs, offering comprehensive training in all aspects of lift operations, and maintaining the traditional aesthetics of lift stations. Additionally, the position fosters a positive and supportive work environment for employees.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, ANSI codes, and company policies.
  • Develop and deliver seasonal training plans; support ongoing staff training.
  • Oversee scheduling, payroll approvals, and budget adherence.
  • Partner with HR to manage performance reviews, documentation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Enforce departmental standards, including dress code and appearance.
  • Teach, monitor, and support safe lift loading/unloading procedures.
  • Address guest concerns, resolve complaints, and ensure exceptional service.
  • Mediate employee conflicts, motivate staff, and recognize achievements.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to achieve company goals.
  • Maintain and monitor operational systems, including RFID and Workday.
  • Coordinate with snowcats to maintain safe ramps, mazes, and terminals.
  • Manage inventory, order parts and supplies, and oversee in-house projects.
  • Direct distribution and proper use of tools, equipment, and operational resources.
  • Assume duties of lift operators, ticket checkers, and supervisors as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with staff and guests while maintaining flexibility to support evolving needs.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years' experience in Deer Valley lift operations leadership team, or equivalent.
  • Basic operating knowledge of all Deer Valley lifts.
  • Strong interpersonal and guest service skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Intermediate skiing ability.
  • Operational knowledge of snowmobile and snowblower and company vehicles.
  • Computer literate and has working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Workday, and RTP
  • Has a working knowledge of RFID gates, laptops, and cameras.


DATES OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Winter 2025-26


PAY RATE:

  • $90-105k Salary DOE
