The Omnichannel Operations Specialist supports the execution and optimization of Meijer Pickup, third-party shopping, and digital fulfillment initiatives across store operations. This role bridges field execution with digital strategy, ensuring seamless customer experiences and operational excellence.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Operational Support
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for Meijer Pickup workflows, including staging, handoff, device usage, and customer interaction.
    • Support third-party delivery integration, ensuring alignment with store operations and customer expectations.
    • Monitor and triage store-level issues, escalating through ServiceNow and email when needed.
    • Support rollout and training for new tools (e.g., PS30 devices, Stage & Collect updates, cooler/freezer installations).
  • Reporting & Insights
    • Partner with analytics teams to interpret Power BI dashboards and Medallia feedback.
    • Identify trends in fulfillment performance and customer satisfaction to inform strategy.
    • Provide actionable insights to the Omnichannel Manager and field leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Liaise with Corporate Partners, Store Directors, Digital Product Owners, and third-party vendors to align on execution plans.
    • Participate in weekly syncs and planning meetings to represent store-level needs.
  • Project & Initiative Support
    • Assist in capital planning proposals for Omnichannel Fulfillment infrastructure upgrades.
    • Support seasonal readiness efforts including labor planning, promotional execution, and volume forecasting.
    • Support Elevate project execution
    • Assist in rollout and training for new tools (e.g., PS30 devices, cooler/freezer installations, IVR check-in systems).
  • Training & Communication
    • Develop and maintain SOPs, huddle board materials, and training guides for store teams.
    • Support onboarding of new team members and field leaders.
    • Act as a point of contact for store escalations related to omnichannel fulfillment.
    • Thinks timely and critically to solve problems and demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate key initiatives or actions to Meijer stores and business partners via email, oral presentations, teleconference, memos and other methods.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a store leadership, retail operations, or customer experience role; experience with digital fulfillment/pick-up strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, OneNote, Power BI, and handheld device platforms.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer expectations and requirements. Gets first hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with customer in mind.
