Police Assisted Diversion (PAD) Program Physician - Philadelphia, PA

• Valid Medical License in State of Pennsylvania is required.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Three years' experience in the provision of services to persons who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol
• Wound care experience is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of the service delivery system in Philadelphia is preferred
• Experience with triaging ER patients and/or experience in the prison system is preferred.

Salary $240,000-260,000 depending on experience

Position Details:

It is the responsibility of physician to assess individuals, conduct evaluations, medication management services, clinical consultation/supervision and clinical client reviews. The purpose of the on site physician at PAD location is to provide medically oriented feedback to various stakeholders to insure that individuals receive adequate care while at 265 E Lehigh Ave. Recommendations should be made to PPD partners based on available medical criteria. Physician will also collaborate with other on site and off site providers regarding referrals/inductions for MAT, educating individuals on various health related issues, and address any emergent medical issues occurring on site

Duties include:

• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
• Performing a medical history and physical exam
• Determining diagnosis and appropriately treating narcotic dependence
• Reviewing treatment plans
• Make recommendations regarding level of care received and coordinate care with staff on site
• Discussing cases with treatment team/stakeholders.
• Issuing verbal orders and medication orders pertaining to client care.
• Assessing coexisting medical and psychiatric disorders and making appropriate referrals for treatment of these disorders.
• Review patient eligibility for services.
• Review the patient's clinical information before the recertification period for each patient which includes a face-to-face visit by the medical director
• Work with other PAD-related agencies making medical recommendations on care that individuals receive.
• Coordinate care with both internal and external care providers and provide medical recommendations to partner agencies as appropriate.
