Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to facilitate the conduct of oncology clinical trials for one or more disease groups. This position supports investigators in their research endeavors. This also includes subject and data management according to federal regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and local and institutional policies. These responsibilities relate to the mission of the UNC/ LCCC Clinical Research by maintaining the quality of research and by addressing patient safety and regulatory compliance which impact research quality and safeguard institutional integrity.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge of ICH GCP, Federal Regulations and Guidelines and ability to follow established regulations, procedures, and protocols.
Some knowledge of clinical research coordination.
Possess strong decision-making skills and the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability thoroughly document procedures.
Ability to plan work and coordinate multiple projects.
Customer-oriented and team-oriented.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work on evenings, weekends and/or holidays occasionally required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in clinical research field.
Skill and facility with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Working experience with obtaining informed consent and enrolling subjects into protocols.
Experience entering and managing data sets.
Medical chart review and direct patient contact in the inpatient hospital setting preferred.
Strong verbal communication, decision making, and the ability to collaborate also preferred. Bilingual Spanish speaker.
