As a Senior Asset Engineer at Enbridge, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting and optimizing gas transmission facility operations through hands-on project management and technical leadership. From crafting project scopes and budgets to leading design, construction, and commissioning phases, you'll ensure our infrastructure remains safe, reliable and efficient. You'll be the technical go-to for filed operations, helping to tackle real-world challenges while also collaborating with Joint Venture partners, customers and internal collaborators. - Provide ongoing technical support to Field Operations including analyzing a broad variety of technical issues, requiring the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Provide project management of various capital and operational projects. Including project reporting, budget, and schedule management.
- Develop scopes and estimates for different projects by working closely with field operations and commercial staff.
- Coordinate different stages of project work such as development of project scope, cost estimate, design, contractor selection, procurement, inspection, construction, and commissioning activities, associated with the facilities and compression.
- Understand and make decisions around the implementation of processes, projects, or procedures that have direct impacts to the overall system and the area operations personnel.
- Support response efforts to operational emergency situations
- Support the investigation of failures and reliability issues and develop solutions.
- Work closely with field operations to review assets from engineering perspective to identify and develop capital and operating budgets to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Participate in the planning and development of the annual capital and operational project budgets for the Region facilities.
- Support the development of O&M and Capital budgets to support ongoing operations.
- Support the incorporation of O&M costs into project development scopes of work.
- Develop understanding of compression fleet and how they are used in system operation.
- Work with Risk Management group and participate in risk analysis sessions to not only identify risks but provide the info necessary to accurately rank the risk.
- Develop and provide guidance in facility operations to other members of the Regional Technical Staff as well as other departments within the Company
Who you are: You have:
- 7+ years of experience in the pipeline transmission industry along with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, or other related engineering subject area
You can:
- Show a solid understanding of CFR 192 and other relevant codes in addition to a dedication to continuous technical learning and personal development
You are:
- An excellent written and verbal communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who has a collaborative team and service mentality
- Proficient in computer applications along with negotiation and purchasing skills
The following are considered assets:
- 10+ years of experience in the pipeline transmission industry
- Understanding of natural gas facilities operations and reliability programs
- Good technical background with experience in facility integrity, reliability or operations
- Ability to own the oversight of multiple projects and tasks
