Job Description

Assists machine operators by handling in-process and finished goods, supplies lubricants, tools, etc., required for operation of machines. Also handles scrap.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Remove finished goods from machine and deliver to proper storage location and stage in an orderly fashion.
  • Line up closing material for placement in machines to maintain efficient operations.
  • Cut and coil scrap and dispose in proper containers.
  • Clean tubes and other machine parts as necessary.
  • Maintain adequate supply of melted lube in pre-heat tanks and deliver lube to machines as needed.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 10-12-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to push/pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions with temperatures ranging from 40-100+ degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must possess math skills, mechanical aptitude, and have the ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measure, and basic hand tools.
  • Previous manufacturing experience that includes the use of measuring devices and the use of basic math and mechanical skills.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used

  • Strand and Wire of various diameters and lengths, on reels or in coils, empty or unassembled reels, paper lagging strips, tags, seizing wire, blocking, and thimbles.
  • Rewinding machines, stanchions, shafts, collars, bushings, measuring devices, fork trucks, banding equipment, welders, and various hand tools.
  • Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes
  • Pliers, wire-cutters, file, hammer, hoists, fork-lift truck, cutting torch, brooms, scrapers, shovel, mop, micrometer, gauges, scrap cutter, saws and various hand-tools.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical (if required)
