Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and dedicated Research Associate with expertise in electrophysiology (endocochlear potential recording) or histology and mouse handling to support our research efforts. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory and the success of our research projects. This is a grant funded position. The lab is focusing on the development and regulation of the stria vascularis to investigate dysfunction in inner ear homeostasis. Our current projects focus on the regulation of the endolymph and identify how stress hormones influence endolymph regulation as well as the mechanism leading to neuronal loss in Meniere's disease. Results of this proposed work will advance our understanding of Meniere's disease and direct us toward the development of treatments to alleviate symptoms or prevent neuronal death.
