Production Supervisor in our Franklin, Wisconsin location.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role oversees daily operations, coordinates schedules, ensures compliance with safety standards, manages personnel development, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Supervisor also acts as a liaison between management and production employees to implement strategic objectives and foster a positive work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production employees to meet productivity and quality goals.
- Create and manage work schedules, assigning tasks based on capacity and skill levels.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety standards.
- Lead daily shift huddles and end-of-shift reports to communicate priorities and review performance.
- Support onboarding and training of new hires, including conducting 30/60/90 day reviews.
- Administer performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement through 5S, OEE, RCA, Kaizen events, and other Lean manufacturing tools.
- Manage labor resources efficiently by adjusting staffing to meet business needs and minimizing overtime.
- Collaborate with scheduling, quality, and inventory teams to ensure seamless workflow and issue resolution.
- Monitor timekeeping records, process payroll and time-off requests, and ensure accuracy.
- Participate in production planning and operations meetings to align on goals and report key metrics.
- Identify and address inventory discrepancies and quality concerns, escalating as needed.
- Ensure departmental housekeeping standards are maintained consistently.
- Participate in and support audits, inspections, and safety initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a production supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; SAP experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety programs and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to invest in professional development.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Plant environment with periodic visits to office areas.
- Moderate noise levels and exposure to varying environmental conditions.
