Data Governance Lead

Summary:

The Data Governance Lead develops and implements policies and stewardship models to support federated governance and data mesh maturation, ensuring compliance with DoD and DHA standards.

*This role is based in Falls Church, VA with possible telework.

Essential Job Functions:

• Lead governance pilots and produce deliverables (e.g., Governance Pilot Report, Federated Governance Playbook).
• Define metadata standards and lifecycle processes.
• Ensure alignment with HIPAA/FISMA compliance and VAULTIS goals.
• Coordinate stakeholder feedback for policy enforcement.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Understanding of data lifecycle, metadata, master data, and reference data management.
• Awareness of data protection, access controls, and risk management.
• Understanding how data governance fits within broader IT and business architecture.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, IT, or related field.
• CDMP or equivalent governance certification.
• Senior level (7-10 years in data governance, 3+ in DoD/healthcare).
• Minimum 5+ years in data governance.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of DHA's data mesh and Advana.
• Expertise in DAMA-DMBOK frameworks.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $135,000 annually.
