Job Details:
Mercer University School of Medicine is searching for a Clerkship Coordinator on the Savannah, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

As part of Academic Affairs and reporting to the Clinical Rotation Supervisor, this position coordinates and supports the Family Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology clinical clerkship rotations assuring consistency of implementation, testing, evaluation, and communication throughout all MUSM campuses. This position will maintain the academic records and assist in maintaining and annually updating the clerkship curriculum manuals of assigned clerkships. The position will work closely with the Clerkship Director for each assigned clerkship to assist students with the successful completion of the clerkship curriculum. The Clerkship Coordinator will be expected to provide support to medical students and coordinate with other clinical coordinators on and across campuses.

Qualifications:

Two years of college coursework and two years of administrative office support experience are required. In lieu of education, equivalent directly related experience will be considered. Candidates must have proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel. Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) with many organizations internal and external to the university. Must be detail oriented and highly organized to complete projects for successful outcome.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license as this position requires some travel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Must forge and maintain strong working relationships with Academic Affairs and applicable university committees, by assisting and supporting clerkship staff and faculty across all campuses.
  • Excel skills to create and manage various academic and curricular databases.
  • Capable of organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines under high pressure.
  • Capable of learning, instructing, and managing a variety of software platforms and programs (for example, One45, Canvas, ExamSoft, etc.) for the delivery and evaluation of the curriculum and the assessment of students.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all academic records and ensure this confidentiality even when communicating with students, faculty, and administration.
  • Must exhibit ethical, reliable, and dependable behavior, ability to maintain constructive interpersonal relationships, ability to use judgment to set priorities, teamwork attitude, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work independently to prioritize/complete tasks.
  • Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability communicate (verbal and written) with many organizations internal and external to the university.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized to complete projects for successful outcome.
