Responsibilities

Summary

The Treatment Unit Supervisors will be responsible for assuring that all GEO Group Program models, Illinois Department of Corrections contract requirements and Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) licensing obligations are fulfilled and will have Supervisory Responsibility over Senior Certified Counselors, Certified Substance Abuse Counselors, Non-Certified Counselors, and Facility Coordinator.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop organization / unit and clinical supervision structure including standard operating procedure manuals for all program operations, including the Specialized Methamphetamine Program, to ensure compliance with SUPR licensing regulations, IDOC and Corporate policies.
  • Ensure full staffing, including recruiting, selecting developing therapeutic community skills / competencies, staffing ratios to meet contractual requirements.
  • Training and staff development: mission, policies, objectives (short and long term), conduct new hire, therapeutic community program and experiential training.
  • Establish management strategic plans, policies, procedures, programmatic direction and standards.
  • Monitor / Oversight of program staff / related activities to include Senior Certified Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselors, Non-Certified Counselors, and Clerical Staff/Historians.
  • Develop, update and disseminate internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and document clinical team meetings and staff meetings; schedule employees as per compliance and therapeutic community program training. Perform timely employee evaluations and employee disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain IDOC correctional contract professional relationships; attend any meetings / functions as required by the Warden or designee.
  • Report writing: weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually as required.
  • Develop and monitor programming and services to ensure that program and SUPR licensing standards are in compliance.
  • Monitor tracking and outcome questionnaire data to improve delivery of services and to establish overall effectiveness of program.
  • Work as a team member with entire treatment and ancillary staff to promote consistent and coordinated efforts.
  • Review clinical files and perform individual record audits for licensing compliance and required documentation to ensure delivery of services. Document monthly clinical supervision meetings and group observations.
  • If deemed necessary, maintain client caseload, provide individual and group counseling as per the Correctional Recovery Program elements as well as perform ASI Assessments.
  • Other related duties as may be requested by the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Clinical Manager or other Treatment Unit Supervisors.

Qualifications

Minimal Requirements

The Clinical Supervisor will be a chemical dependency professional. A minimum of a Master's Degree, two years of experience in a forensic therapeutic community or residential program as an administrator or supervisor and CADC or reciprocal is required. Five years relevant experience may be substituted for Master's Degree if the candidate possesses management experience.

Preferred requirements: Master's Degree preferred. Experience or expertise with offender populations is preferred
