What you will do:
- Supervises and oversees daily bank deposits and the work of business office staff including patient reception, registration, scheduling, charges/payments, insurance billing, referrals, scheduling templates, etc. In doing so, assigns work to and follows up on work of subordinate personnel, answers questions regarding patient billing, charges and medical records, and maintains accountability for accounting record keeping and daily deposits.
- Collaborates with manager/directors when developing annual capital and operating budgets in order to achieve agreed upon goals and objectives. Oversees purchase of equipment/supplies and equipment repairs. Works with property management regarding ancillary services. Develops and implements appropriate methods to monitor budget and resolve variances monthly. Approves all department invoices and routes to accounting department weekly.
- Interviews, hires, orients, trains, and evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, recommends discipline and/or discharge of employees. Assists in resolving difficult employee relations issues. Monitors employee schedules. Conducts monthly staff meetings to ensure effective communication. Implements programs to achieve retention of qualified staff.
- Maintains cooperative working relationships with medical staff in order to facilitate customer satisfaction and operational improvements. Maintains cooperative working relationships throughout the organization.
- Ensures confidentiality of all patient medical records is properly maintained in accordance with hospital policy.
- Prepares analysis and reports as requested by physicians and/or management. Maintains consistent, open lines of communication with managers/directors.
- Oversees data entry of patient charges, account payments, patient registration, appointments, lab invoice reconciliation, untracked encounters and referral process for the business staff.
- Reviews the quality of work being performed by business staff through competency testing and audits. Provides performance feedback to staff throughout their evaluation period.
- Serves as a resource in resolving difficult problems, investigating and identifying corrective actions in response to issues involving patients, medical staff, and/or staff
What you will need:
- Two to three years of previous physician practice experience required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Strong organizational skills, customer service skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
