Purpose:

The Product Manager is responsible for bringing new product lines to consumers in an engaging, functional way, while opening up fresh distribution channels and collaborating with other departments. The Product Manager will work creatively and pragmatically to conserve resources and engage the product line's potential audience. Knowledge of key demographics and an innovative perspective on product development are important in this role. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic vision, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of consumer needs and market trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities for product innovation.
• Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
• Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
• Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
• Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
• Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
• Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
• Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales and production.
• Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong product marketing / marketing work experience - preferably with 4+ years of product development experience in a leadership capacity.
• 4 years degree, with MBA strongly preferred
• Excellent networking skills, especially with regard to distribution channels and social media
• Skilled in negotiating, influencing others
• Building industry or B to B experience preferred.
• Strong technical & analytical skills
• Strong strategic planning skills
• Strong communicator, with strong presentation skills
• Proven leadership skills
• Excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, navigate ambiguity and balance competing demands
