Temple University's ITS Department is searching for a Director of Project Management!

Position Summary

The Director of Project Management position in Applications and Data oversees projects related to administrative offices, including Enrollment Management, Finance, Human Resources, Advancement, Faculty, and others. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing software implementations and be skilled at coordinating between vendors, institutional stakeholders, and IT teams to ensure successful deployments. The project manager would be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. This position will work closely with the Project Management Office in the Information Technology Services department.

Required Education and Experience:

*Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of project management experience with at least 3 years' experience in higher education software implementation.

*Advanced experience with agile project management methodology and agile tools.

*Advanced experience in managing multiple projects and priorities in a complex institutional environment.

*An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Possesses an expert-level understanding of evolving FERPA, HIPAA, comprehensive data privacy regulations and compliance requirements within the higher education landscape.

*Mastery of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) Tools & Methodologies

*Advanced knowledge of change management and end-user training strategies

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with faculty, staff, IT, and vendors

*Deep Expertise with Higher Education application software. Possesses profound knowledge and strategic insight into the architecture, implementation, and optimization of core Higher Education enterprise application suites (Banner, Workday, CRMs, Slate; LMS platforms).

*Expert in leading complex enterprise-wide integration strategies

Essential Functions of Position

*Perform strategic project management by tracking performance and reporting on critical metrics to all accountable parties.

*Lead the stakeholder meetings at a regular cadence to manage the project based on the defined scope, allocated resources, and milestones. Provide a detailed plan for the major effort/project and proactively manage risks.

*Work as the liaison between the vendor, institutional departments, and IT to achieve project objectives; escalate critical impediments as needed and present alternative solutions

*Use appropriate agile project management tools

*Manage internal resources to ensure the right resources are assigned to the right tasks

*Work with the subject matter experts to develop a comprehensive list of business requirements

*Coordinate software configuration, testing, training, and go-live activities, coordinate testing and communication efforts

*Provide training and documentation as the solution is ready to be distributed

*Learn the environment and understand the tech stack, internal ITS processes, and procedures that are applicable for the success of the project

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.

Salary Grade: T29

Salary Range: $104,870 - $150,000

A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant's education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.
