Position Overview
We"re seeking a Senior Manufacturing Project Engineer to lead and manage high-impact industrial projects during a key transition period. The successful candidate will oversee 1-2 active initiatives, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams and delivering on timelines, budgets, and technical goals. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in capital equipment deployment, facility coordination, and process implementation in complex manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage manufacturing projects over $100K, including equipment installation and facility modifications for machining, assembly, engine testing, and final processes.
*Define project requirements, Statements of Work (SOW), and execution plans aligned to charter objectives.
*Lead procurement efforts in partnership with Purchasing, including vendor selection and equipment acquisition.
*Coordinate commissioning of equipment such as 5-axis machining centers and other production assets.
*Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Facilities, Maintenance, and Process Engineering teams.
*Identify and mitigate project risks; manage delays, conflicts, and resource challenges through proactive planning.
*Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to enhance process efficiency.
*Support production troubleshooting efforts related to mechanical design, materials, or manufacturing processes.
*Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders and external contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
*Drive compliance with all safety and ethical standards, including the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications
*Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering and at least 5 years of engineering and project management experience; OR 9+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
*Proven experience managing capital projects and implementing manufacturing processes in an industrial environment.
*Strong knowledge of diesel engine manufacturing and related assembly, test, and paint processes.
*Expertise in industrial/construction project execution including building systems, codes, and compliance.
*Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and understanding construction practices and regulations.
*Skilled in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting using MS Project and Microsoft Office tools.
*Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
