Summary:

NAFTPD Field Assistants are responsible for assisting in all facets of field research.
Team members will aid with an array of outdoor field duties and some indoor lab duties.

*This position requires the ability to perform repetitive job tasks accurately.
*Must be 18 years of age minimum and able to perform physical activities such as bending, lifting, and long periods of standing.
*Field labor activities occur outdoors for long periods of time with exposure to the elements. Team members may need to drive company vehicles during work hours.
*Compliance with company and USDA-APHIS trainings and policies is required.
*Weekend work and extended hours may be required during the peak seasons.
*Individuals may also be responsible for the operation and preventive maintenance of farm/research equipment in assigned areas.

Outdoor Field Responsibilities include:
*Assisting with planting, staking research plots, pollinating,
*Data collection using electronic devices,
*Research plot maintenance, weeding, hand harvest, process improvement projects, preventive maintenance of equipment,
*Aiding with spraying, and other special projects.

Skills/Experience:
*Ability to understand and follow verbal and written tasks and safety instructions delivered in English,
*High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), valid driver's license,
*Ability to lift up to 40lbs, ability to pass pre-employment drug screening,
*Experience with or ability to learn Microsoft Office and iOS devices for data collection,
*Ability to perform repetitive job tasks accurately.
*Past pesticide application experience is desirable but not required.
