The University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is driving the direction of how our field is practiced. As an internationally recognized program, University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is where patients and otherclinicians turn to for care of complex neurosurgical issues. The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking an Endovascular fellowship trained neurosurgeon to facilitate subspecialty program growth, increase patient access and contribute to regional coverage expansion. We are seeking a neurosurgeon who is interested in having a robust clinical practice, teaching opportunities, program building, and aiding in clinical research growth. They would join an established Endovascular division within a comprehensive department covering all subspecialty areas including spine, neuro-oncology, skull-base, neurotrauma and functional neurosurgery.



The rank of appointment (Assistant/Associate) is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Essential Functions

  • Bedside education of medical students and residents in the diagnosis and care of patients with cerebrovascular disease.
  • Participate in the educating of students in neurosurgery and specialty-adjacent fields in specialty head and neck anatomy.
  • Provide direct patient care. Related duties will include but not be limited to the following: performing preoperative assessments, evaluating patients before surgery to determine the most appropriate plan based on their medical history and current health; performing postoperative care by overseeing the recovery of patients, and handling emergency situations by providing life-saving interventions and support for breathing and circulation.
  • Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
  • Evaluate and develop curriculum for department and/or college.
  • Serve on graduate committees, supervise laboratories (where appropriate), independent study activities, and off-campus learning.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual's academic specialty.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD or DO.
  • Licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board.
  • Completion of ACGME Neurosurgery residency (7 years).
  • Completion of Endovascular Neurosurgery Subspecialty Training or CAST Fellowship (1 year).
