Overview

The Recruiting and Outreach Coordinator (ROC) is responsible for sourcing and screening persons with disabilities for all open AbilityOne positions in each line of business at all GCE contract sites. Primary duties include exercise of discretion in identifying targeted applicants who would meet the criteria for, and benefit from, AbilityOne employment. Independent judgment in deciding whether or not to add specific partners to the referral network is also paramount. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to network and collaborate with others internal and external to the organization.

Role Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education & Experience Requirement:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field such as rehabilitation, counseling, social work, psychology, education, business administration, or economics and one year of experience working with persons with disabilities;
  • OR Master's Degree in applicable field as noted above and six months of experience working with persons with disabilities;
  • OR Associate's Degree or Bachelor's or Master's in an unrelated field and two years of experience working with persons with disabilities;
  • OR four years' experience working with persons with disabilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have experience in employment outreach and/or recruiting activities.
  • Previous knowledge and experience with the AbilityOne Program and/or in a community-based vocational services setting is preferred.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel by car, rail and/or air may be required, domestically and internationally. The percentage of time traveling will vary widely based on the circumstances.

Location:

  • Remote Position-Candidate setting is remote; however, living location in the greater Newport, RI area.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Vision requirements include close and classroom vision, and:

  • Must be able to operate office equipment.
  • Must have the ability to focus on details and resist distractions.
  • Long periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking may be required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs.

Compensation

The hourly range for this position is $23.2673-$26.8308.
